Bank
  1. (n) A row of slot or video poker machines.
  2. (n) A bankroll or stake
  3. (v)to put away and keep (as in to "Bank a win")

Bar-top
A video poker or slot machine whose display is primarily or mostly horizontal as opposed to a upright, typically found at bars. Same as flat-top

Carousel
A collection of slot or video poker machines, in a circular-like arrangement. Often these machines have similar games, and in the case of progressive machines, may be tied together.
Class III Gaming
card games played against the house, slot machines, dog and horse racing, jai alai, and all other types of casino gaming. The National Indian Gaming Commission's (NIGC's) authority includes review and approval of Class III Gaming management contracts. Class III gaming is regulated by compacts negotiated between tribes and states. (IRS.gov)
Coin-dropper
A video poker or slot machine that accepts and dispenses (drops) coins.
Coin-in
The total amount wagered on a slot, keno or video poker machine. For video poker, the Coin-in is equal to the total number of hands played times the average amount bet per hand. The term originates from the fact that all slots machines were once "coin droppers" and is still in use today though most machines are now TITO.

Coin-out
The total dollar value of all winnings or actual payouts on a slot or video poker machine. The ratio of the Coin-in to Coin-out is the actual (realized) return. The difference between Coin-out and Coin-in is the win (loss)

Cycle
Defined as one over the probability of receiving a certain hand or payout. In video poker, the Cycle is therefore expressed in units of hands (or deals). Perhaps because of this, the term Cycle is commonly misused and many players erroneously expect to receive a certain hand once per cycle. A cycle represents the number hands it will take on average for a certain outcome. A player may of course receive any number of such hands in a cycle (from 0 to the cycle length).
Flat-top
  1. A non-progressive video poker game
  2. A slant-top or bartop video poker machine (not an upright).

Hopper
  1. the area, resembling a bin or trough designed to catch coins dumped from a slot or video poker machine. In this case the action of a coin hitting the Hopper was designed to make a noise gamblers liked
  2. The bin or trough internal to a slot machine that holds coins. When the machine ran out of coins, a Hopper fill would be necessary before the machine could be used again.
Multi-Denomination
A slot or video poker machine that offers plays at more then one denomination. Most, but not all, video poker machines are multi-denomination and pay tables often depend on the denomination chosen.
Multi-Game
A slot or video poker machine that offers different games (and not just different pay tables for the same game).
Multi-Line
Referring to a video poker machine that allows gamblers to play one or more lines (equivalently, hands or plays) simultaneously. Multi-Line machines always deal a single video poker hand. The draw, however, can be from 1 to 100 hands, depending on the machine.

Reel Slot
  1. Slot machines that use actual reels or wheels
  2. Any non-video poker gambling machine
SL
Short for Single-Line.
Slant-top
A video poker or slot machine whose display is slanted between horizontal (bar-top) and vertical (upright)

Slot Day
The period of time a casino considers a single gaming day. Typically, the Slot Day day differs from the normal day and typically begins early in the morning rather than at midnight (perhaps to correspond with a shift change). The Slot Day is used (not the date) for comp rating purposes. At many casinos, the date on the W2-G is also based on the Slot Day, so that a jackpot won just after midnight on New Years is reported for "last year"
Slot machine
any mechanical, electrical or other device, contrivance or machine which, upon insertion of a coin, token or similar object, or upon payment of any consideration, is available to play or operate, the play or operation of which, whether by reason of the skill of the operator in playing a gambling game which is presented for play by the machine or application of the element of chance, or both, may deliver or entitle the person playing or operating the machine to receive cash, premiums, merchandise, tokens or any thing of value, whether the payoff is made automatically from the machine or in any other manner. Speed Feeding
Feeding coins into a video poker or slot machine at high rate in an attempt to cause the machine to malfunction and report the wrong number of credits (in a player's favor).
Spin Poker
A video poker game which features a set of 5 spinning wheels, similar to a slot machine, but play exactly the same as standard multi-play, except with increased variance. Instead of additional hands (displayed individual), in Spin Poker, the "hands" are formed by reel-slot machine like "lines&quot
