Oaktree Capital Management has completed the acquisition of the Casablanca Resort and Virgin River Hotel Casino in Mesquite from Mesquite Gaming LLC.

Black Diamond card Bonus cashback (up to $1199 for $100,000 coin-in on the previous month) is now given as free play on the first day of the month. Player no longer have to go to players club to ask for it.

Doing a total of $600,000 coin-in (60,000 points) in 13 months qualifies one for the highest card level, Black Diamond Card (same card for both Casablanca and Virgin River so points can be earned at either property). Once you have the Black Diamond Card, your current month’s play qualifies you to get bonus cash in the following month, with levels for playing $5,000 coin-in all the way to $100,000 coin-in which will get you escalating amounts of bonus cash up to a maximum of $1199. To get the $1199, you must play $100,000 coin-in during the previous month. This cash bonus is in addition to the monthly mailer. The monthly mailer for the $100,000 coin-in a month is $400 freeplay ($200 first half of month and $200 the second half of month), $150 in food ($25 vouchers x 6) and 4 free room nights at either property. There is at least one day with 2x points every month. There are drawings on Wednesday nights at Virgin River . They also have a daily kiosk spin game where you can win 2-5x multipliers for the drawing entries. Currently both properties have 8/5 bonus poker in $1, $2, and $5 denominations as well as some machines with $1 NSUD. Black Gaming includes the Casa Blanca Resort, Virgin River Casino and the Oasis Casino, Mesquite Nevada. At all three of the Black Gaming Casino´s the Double and Triple points are now missing. Inventory update: Missing VP games at Casablanca included the progressive 9-6 Double, Double near the player´s desk and the reported Double Deuces near the cage. The rest of the "Full Pay" games continue as reported earlier. The current full pay games are only found in the 25cent level all three Casinos. Free play mailings are now being sent to Players Club cardholders. Amounts are based on past play. This month they offer 50% off at all Black Gaming outlets on all purchased points. Including Cafés, Restaurants, Buffet, Starbucks, Golf, Spa, Salon, and gift shops. (Excludes sundries, tobacco and alcohol). Might be a good time to use up those points on Spa, Play Golf or get that new set of clubs you always wanted. Kathreen´s Steak House continues to be the nicest place for a nice meal. Virgin River Casino There remains the group against the wall right of the entrance to the Chuck Wagon Cafe 9-6 JOB in a Multi Game VP Machines. These are $1.00, $5.00 and $10.00 levels. Across from the Buffet entrance you will find 10 VP Machines. They are marked with a big sign on top as 100% payback. On these marked machines They have DDB at 10-6 Double Bonus at 10-7 9-6 JOB and NSUD's One caution however the 100% payback is only at the 25 cent level. To go up in domination causes the paytable to change lower and are they are no long playable. Example JOB @ 25 cent level 9-6 Changing to Dollar level now only 8-5.

There appears to be a major management change at the three properties in Mesquite, Nevada owned by Randy Black. The Casa Blanca, Oasis and the Virgin River are the Mesquite Casinos that could be affected. Randy Black purchased these properties, from his family a few years ago. Then he brought in several top level employees from the Harrahs properties, to help manage the new company he named Tri-Properties. A noticable downgrade of Video Poker paytables promptly followed. Last week it was announced that two of the top ex-Harrah's managers will be leaving the company. It is possible that the change may signal a possible new direction for these three properties. These casinos were player friendly before the addition of the management team from Harrah's. Time will tell if the inventory of Video Poker will be improved now.

The $1 dollar NSUD's are now missing. The 9-6 JOB remain on the wall right of the café entrance. No other machines meeting the Vpfree play level were found. This was as March 30, 2007.

This is the other location owned by Mr. Black. As of November 4th the Virgin still had ten $1 9-6 JOB and NSUD machines on the wall near the Cafe these are sit down machines. Located right side/wall as you face the cafe entrance. There are also several upright $1 Game Kings a row away they also have 9-6 and NSUD. As reported earlier all other playable games are gone. I only walk through this casino once a month to update VPFree. So I wouldn't know if these disappear before next month.

Virgin River inventory remains the same as before. There are a few 9-6 $1 machines scattered in the old part (West end) of the building. But with the changes going on in the other two casinos owned by Randy Black it may only be a matter of time before these also are downgraded. Most of the NSUD have also been changed to lesser paytables. You have to look to find them. I didn't check the inventory at the Virgin River on my last visit to Mesquite so things may have changed. ALSO I received in the mail yesterday an offer from the Virgin River of additional cash back with out using your points. It is based on the total points earned on only Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in November. It is a sliding scale and is in addition to the points you earn toward rewards. For example 500 points get you $15 cash back. 2000 points get you $75, 4000 points get you $225 and on up to 10,000 points get you $1200. There are may more levels not shown here due to space.

The coin-in on video poker to earn one point was increased from $10 to $20. This has the effect of reducing the comp rate from .4% to .2%. Most of the paytables in Casablanca were changed from NSUD to the 9/4/4/3/2/1 variety...which, if I remember correctly, is below 99%. This is about six weeks after they changed the paytable on a $1 progressive from 10/6 DDB to 9/5 DDB. The $1 Deuces Wild prograssive at the Oasis was also shorted from NSUD to the same paytable as the Casablanca.

Casa continues with the 5xpoints Mon-Frid. Midnight until 8AM. Oasis double points Sunday and Thursday. Virgin River triple points on Tuesdays and Eureka 2xpoints on Monday and Weds. This will be the last month of the 5xpoints @ the Casa. Management tried to pull this promo last month but forgot to pull it form the mailers and the local newspaper.
