Mohegan Sun use to be the best deal for Video Poker players on the East coast. The Casino had plenty of 9/6 Jacks, full pay Bonus Poker and full pay Pick-Um. The comps were really good. A 9/6 jacks player, for example, who played perfectly, would be playing at 100.2% every day of the week due to the .66% comp value. On double points day the value was 100.86%. About two years ago, 2011, someone idiot, in upper management, realized wrongly, what was happening and decided to eliminate all comps from the full pay machines. The players that were pouring lots of money in the machines left. That included me. I was a 1.5 Million dollar a year, coin-in player. There were lots of other, even higher players, that left. The Casino doesn't realize that 95% of video poker players, play at least 2% lower than the optimum payback. That is to say that a J/B 99.54% machine is almost always played, at the most, at 97.54+or-%. That is a good return for the Casino. I no longer play at the Sun. I also do not play at Foxwood. Scattered through this casino and at some of the bars are " Game King Multi Game Video Poker" machines. 25c 9-5 JOB, 25c 9-5 DB, DW 9-4. Visited on 5-5-13. The Steakhouse has a Prime Rib dinner which is best Casino food and fairly reasonable. Hotel is not cheap but rooms are very nice. vnickp

Greektown makes it tough to play there. The machines are in poor condition. Card readers are dated and the screens are well worn. Punching in a 4 digit PIN results in a mistyped PIN about 1/3 of the time. I saw a smear on one screen and the same smear was there a week later. Slot club is confusing at best. Their promos are misleading and hard to decipher due to the poor wording on the offers. Greektown takes a great location, an historical setting, pretty good machine selection and somehow makes it not work. johnnyzee

We've been going to GVR for as long as it has been open. There are several things to love. The rooms are good size and the beds and bedding's are the best I have ever slept on in any place in Vegas. The Video Poker is excellent with 100+ and lots of 99.4+% machines. At times I think the casino gets crowded, but that would not be true when comparing it to the strip casinos. I have to admit we don't stay on the strip very often and after my last trip to the strip I found out was crowded REALLY is. OMG. They have good food selection for Steaks, Hanks is great. Italian is good, cafe is pretty good, and buffet is OK for a buffet. If you like Chinese you will love China Spice. We spend most of our time in the casino playing, but took a break in May to go to the pool bar. The waitresses are nearly all 10's and those bikini's WOW. Even though we sat in the covered area I will definitely bring my dark glasses to hide my stares. Yikes. Seriously its my favorite place as it has it all. dickinfl
