The CB or BBC at Ballys and Caesars on their database pages implies that they are using the same formula. In fact this is not so. Ballys definitely gives more CB(BBC) than Caesars. Estimates are that Ballys is .23 % and Caesars is about .1-.15%. There is great fluctuation at Caesars. At times I've only received about .05% which is why I will not play there anymore. Perhaps Caesars raises its BB % based upon coin-in. Ballys has a more constant rate. Also Ballys datapage lists BBC of .1% good for a year if you earn 4500RC/month. In fact this is not bounceback but is bonus cash redeemable on certain specific days and in some cases is good for 2x/month therefore raising the %.

Part 2: My apologies to everyone, there is still a $1 PROG JoB bank of machines in the Park Place Video Poker (in the smoking section). As I mentioned previously, I am working on rechecking the PPVP and Tower Slots areas to make sure the listed information is still current. Part 1: The VP areas in Bally’s Park Place have seen a continuing shake up with all of the 25¢ Pick’em machines moved to the ground floor of the Claridge casino. In addition, the $1 progressive banks of JoB and Bonus Poker have been disabled and replaced with a variety of 25¢ video poker machines. This has been offset to some extent with a $1 8/5 Bonus Poker progressive machine(s?) in the smoking area of the Park Place Video Poker section. For everyone’s information the PPVP area has been split into smoking – the first two rows (I believe) of machines nearest the lobby and non-smoking, which is everything else. The large group of video poker machines located to the right of the Big 6 wheel is all marked as non-smoking. Another item of interest is the current bonus reward credits being awarded. Several people have noted that they were getting zero or very few bonus RC’s when playing JoB. I also noticed this when playing the Triple Play BP progressives. There are some possibilities for this to my way of thinking: 1) Harrah’s is reducing the perks associated with the better paying VP games. 2) The current Choice Rewards promotion going on in August is affecting bonus RC’s. This promotion allows players to select from tiers of gifts depending on the number of base reward credits earned – without using any of the earned credits. Like the 3x cashback promotion earlier this year, I suspect that this promotion is partially funded by reducing the rates at which bonus credits are earned. I am planning on checking the PPVP and Tower Slots area more thoroughly later this month and will post another report then.

Many changes are afoot in Bally’s over the past few months, most notably the removal of the $1 PKM machine located just outside the Park Place Video Poker area with a slot machine. It gets a little bit confusing after that. They have shifted some machines around - including relocating the 4 $2 JoB/BP Multigame machines out of Tower Slots and making them $1 machines in the Park Place Video Poker area instead. While the 9/6 paytable has been retained for JoB, there is no confirmation yet if they kept the BP at 8/5 or if it was downgraded. I also got word that the $1 JoB machine outside the Mountain Bar is gone (I never could find it myself). Like all the Atlantic City casinos, Bally’s has marked large areas of the casinos as non-smoking. Ok, they just put signs on top of the machines but it’s a start if you’re not keen on all the smoke like me. The Tower Slots room is still smoking, as are the table game areas. While most of Park Place Video Poker is non-smoking, the banks closest to the reception area are still smoking. So don’t expect a completely smoke free experience as you still have smoking areas directly adjacent to Park Place VP. Most of Claridge and large sections of WWW are now non-smoking, so if you like the Triple Play .25 Bonus Poker progressive machines, you may want to consider playing the bank just outside Little Joes VP area in WWW. Finally, I’d be remiss if I didn’t note that I should really change the BBC calculations to “theoretical” as it appears that percentage may change if they are running a big promotion like the 3x cashback. If anyone has any insights on the cashback calculations I’d love to hear from you. Many thanks to the people emailing changes to me and sincerest apologies for not getting this updated sooner!

The progressives seemed set lower to start on $1 9/6 banks and dealt royal on .25 bonus triple play. I play only $1 9/6 single and triple play and the .25 8/5 BP progs. Cash back is .2% (confirmed from 2 recent trips). Can only be redeemed on return trip ( 90 days) No bounce back ( do not know what .15 in web page refers to) , but instead of old double days I get 2-4 days a month with a $$ reward ( players seem to get $20 - 15). For these games I got connection comps now @ .25% regardless of other activities. In the past Ballys AC would comp at 1% ( dont ask dont tell), but held back comps - taking into account $55+ for comped rooms, and maybe for CB also. But $5000 through on an overnight was enough - likely double that now. Though hosts would always comp me anything but gourmet even if my account was empty - used up from prior play/trip- now there are less hosts with much less discretionary freedom.
