1 Star Overall Video Poker
I've been to Vegas 4 times and always heard to go to Red Rock as they had the best VP. So this last time I spent the $50 cab ride to go. They have near about any kind of VP you want to play with large progressives for those rare hands like dealt RF and sequential RF's. But I got stomped. Signed up for a players card had a chance to win up to $500 in free play. Put the card in and what did I get............. $3 rofl. Blew about $2,800 playing single line DDB in 4 hours. Only got two quads dealt 8's and then 8's again on the same machine. I won't be going back. spxChrome

3 Stars Overall Video Poker
The video poker offering seems to be one of the poorest in the mid-West. There's 8/6 JoB at 98.39% which is generally unplayable but there seems to be no 99+ machines at all, whereas such machines can be found at other casinos in the region. The lack of any competition seems to be a factor and there seems to be little to convince the operators that a better gamble is needed. There's a good selection of games on IGT multi-game machines including Joker Poker with kings or better and trips or better pay scales but all with sub=par pay tables. There are Deuces Wild, or Bonus Deuces, but both has sub-98% pay tables.\ There are also multi-hand machines, but with 6/5 JoB pay tables, the gamble is exceedingly poor, even if they are nickle machines. And with the decreased benefits from Total Rewards, one might as well stick to some of the two-coin traditional slots such as the Double Diamond machines on the second floor with the 80-unit third coin payout for the scatter-pay on the Double Diamond emblems. There's little impetus to play the third coin and the credit rate with Total Rewards is double that for video poker. So all of you that have heard that video poker is the best gamble in any casino, take warning. That is not always the case, and is likely not to be the case when your apt to be playing a machine with a sub-96% pay table. Reprobate

Run down little casino in the middle of nowhere. 2 x 8/5 banks for .25 progressive. No $1 progressive. Best machines are in HL 9/6 and all 3 play pretty well. The best thing about this casino is the comps. Make sure to get a players card. The comps add up 10x faster than any other casino I ever been. They also have great weekend drawings for cars and 5 figure drawings. Bad part is drawing entries are not based on play. You only get 1 per person. spxChrome

4 Stars Overall Video Poker
Played at this casino for 7 years. Poker is good with nice paytables. 9/7 TDB. 10/6 DDB non progressive, Triple Dueces 3K for quad dueces and Double Deuces with 800 for the 5 Aces, Super Aces and Super Double Bonus plus. Best machines are the the multi-denom Game Kings next to the bathroom or the 3 non progressives against the wall. Used to pay fairly consistient but since new ownership of Isle of Capri Nov of 2010 its been pretty dry. They came in in changed the chips in the VP machines and they never been the same. Comps dropped from $200 a week to $35 and point play is a joke 1 pt for 10$ in 200pts - $5. VIP is non existient they treat HL the same as Nickel players. No tiered base players card. spxChrome

If I were to own a casino, this would be the one. On the other side of the coin as a player however, much is left to be desired. First off, this is very much a local's casino with familiar faces showing up like clockworks. They all dress up in their Sugar House t-shirts, sweatshirts, and jackets - like workers in uniforms ready for duty. Sugar House baits them with frequent but cheesy free gifts such as soap dispenser. Parking is free and never an issue. The so-called 'Sugar Express' shuttle is really a free tour bus of the City that takes many ridiculous circles before finally reaching the Casino; all the while you are sitting on hard wood park bench dazed and confused. You really should take a quick taxi ride instead. The machines are tightly packed and on a busy night, the smoke permeates through out the floor. The sandwiches are fine for a quick snack, I recommend the pork with a little oil. You should venture back to Center City for a proper meal. The bathrooms are clean always, much to their credit. The Professionals are friendly enough but you should sit near the center of the floor if you want to be served a cocktail. Note that the cocktail cup is tiny so you are better off asking for a bottle of beer, I recommend the Heineken and Corona. Lastly as I stated, this is very much a casino for the locals and entertainments is a reflection of that business model so you should come see Jerry Blavat and dance the night away! As reported on a weekly basis on http://gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov/ Sugar House is usually the tightest slot machines payout in the State. And along with Parx, two casino with the highest revenue on a per machine basis, as reported in "PENNSYLVANIA GAMING CONTROL BOARD ANNUAL REPORT 2010-2011 under 'Taxable Slot Wins Per Day'. Although the VP numbers are not broken down separately, there are only three IGT Game King machines offering 8-6 JOB on 25¢ coin, most others are either short-pay 8-5 or even less. There are a few 5¢ VP machines but they are all short-pay. I will leave you with these final thoughts. Parx is a much nicer casino North just outside of Philly, it is basically a smaller version of Borgata. However Borgata offers many full-pay JOB on 25¢ coin, all the IGT Game Kings at Parx are short-pay for 25¢ coin JOB. But for those of you who enjoys thoroughbred racing, the admission is free. Harrah's Philadelphia Casino is South at Chester in the middle of industrial waste land but it has all the charm of AC Bally, if you like good-but-cheap buffet and free meals for premium members at the Diamond Club. There are many 8-5 JOB on IGT Game King machines in both smoking and non-smoking areas. This racino is also admission free. Plus free soda for everyone. All three casinos provides ample free parking. sugardaddy1
